Your Guide to Heavy Metals and Purium’s Certificate of Analysis

We place equal importance on what IS in our products and what IS NOT in our products, such as genetically modified organisms and artificial substances. Your health and the well-being of the entire planet are important to us.

We have assembled a global network of certified organic farmers to supply our superfoods to achieve our goals. Every beautiful color, vibrant flavor, and raw nutrition comes straight from Mother Nature.

We take quality seriously and conduct a complete battery of tests to ensure the purity, potency, and safety of every ingredient we use. We’re always open and transparent about what goes into our products so that we can fulfill the Purium promise.

Our Analysis

The Certificate of Analysis

Since each Purium product must pass a battery of quality assurance tests before it can be shipped to customers, creating a scientific Certificate of Analysis (COA) is no easy task. At key checkpoints during production, we inspect not just incoming raw materials but also “blends” under development.

Just before a product is released to the public, one last quality control check is conducted to make sure everything is perfect. In addition to these analyses, we also perform shelf life analyses to guarantee that every final serving of your products will be as delicious and healthy as the first, provided that they are consumed within the suggested dates.

Since test documentation and data are evaluated, processed, and filed at different stages of manufacturing, it is unrealistic to compile all of this information in its entirety for each lot number of products. Heavy metal analysis is just one piece of information that is frequently sought for, but we have done our best to include it in our certificates of analysis.

Follow the links below to view our Certificates. Internal supply chain and quality personnel are the typical users of these papers after receiving considerable training.

Quality Assurance Through Analysis Certificates

Our growing list will be finished the week of May 16.

What You Need to Know

Metals Content in Food

Heavy metal content is a common reason for requesting a Certificate of Analysis. This is a real worry, although it has many different causes.

Have you heard? Metals are ubiquitous in the environment, appearing in all three media.

In truth, heavy metals are impossible to avoid, especially if growing food in mineral rich soil. Here’s what we can guarantee:

  • The FDA has determined that our concentrations are well within allowable ranges.
  • When new organic ingredient sources become available, we immediately switch to using those.
  • In place of manufactured vitamins and nutrients, Purium uses only those found in plants and natural foods.

Since it is impossible to completely avoid exposure to heavy metals, we recommend using products like organic chlorella, which can serve as a natural chelator. A chelator is a substance that aids in the removal of metals.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), metal levels are affected by:

  • Geographically-based variations in nature.
  • Pollution of the soil.
  • The biological capacity of certain foods to take up components like minerals and metals from the surrounding soil, air, and water.
  • Industrial pollution from manufacturing and agriculture.

*Note: All metals used in Purium products come exclusively from organic soil and are never purchased from commercial businesses.

What are the things that Purium tests for?

Analysis for purium involves checking for:

  • Staph
  • Salmonella
  • E. coli
  • Coliform bacteria
  • Other microbial indicator organisms
  • Heavy metal contaminants such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury.
  • Gluten
  • Pesticides and other contaminants
  • Potency (if applicable)

Purium takes great satisfaction in ensuring that all of our products are both safe and high-quality. We commit a sizable portion of our workforce and annual budget to quality management activities like inspections, audits, and research & development.
